Things to Do in San Leandro, California

The location of The Marina Inn on San Francisco Bay offers unfettered access to the San Leandro Marina. It offers 462 berths, a boat launch ramp, and two yacht clubs, and is part of the San Leandro Shoreline Recreation Area.

There are municipal marina facilities that include a fuel dock offering diesel and unleaded gasoline and operating from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. There is also a boat launch ramp with a daily rate of $10.

Berthing rates are calculated based on the berth and are generally a monthly rental. Transient boating fees are $20 per night for a berth of 59 feet or less, and $40 for 60 feet and up. Electricity is available at all berths.

Boating, Sailing, and Kayaking

Many visitors bring their own boats to the marina but there are group boating trips offered through the East Bay Regional Park District as well as kayaking and sailing adventures. A popular activity is the kayaking at sunset paddle tour that leaves the shoreline at 6 p.m.

Independent kayakers also frequent the area, using the staging area next to the launch ramp for put-in.

Marina Park

Marina Park encompasses 30 acres and has two playgrounds, picnic and barbeque areas, and a seven-mile trail along the San Francisco Bay that caters to walkers and bikers alike. The Marina Park is just a short walk from The Marina Inn on San Francisco Bay.
